How Long Does a Roof Replacement Take in NH?

· New Hampshire exteriors

Most asphalt shingle replacements on a standard New Hampshire home take one to three production days once materials are on site — but winter weather and scope details matter.

Before the first shingle comes off

Expect an on-site visit, a written scope, and a material lead time — often one to three weeks depending on color and accessory stock.

Permits vary by town. We list permit responsibility in the proposal so you are not guessing.

Production days

A straightforward ranch or colonial in Nashua, Merrimack, or Londonderry often follows this rhythm:

  • Day 1: Tear-off, deck inspection, dry-in, starter and ice protection
  • Day 2: Field shingles, ridge vent, flashing details
  • Day 3 (if needed): Complex hips, chimney siding tie-in, final cleanup

What adds time

Steep pitches, multiple layers of old roofing, rotten deck boards, skylights, and winter cold snaps all extend the calendar.

We do not promise impossible same-day turnarounds. We do promise a written plan and daily cleanup targets.
