Ceiling Stains After a Roof Repair: What Next?

· New Hampshire exteriors

A stain that darkens again after a repair is not always a new leak. Dried insulation can still show ghosting — but active drips mean the exterior source is not solved.

Give it time — carefully

After a real exterior fix, residual moisture in drywall can take days to dry. Mark the stain edge with pencil and date.

If the mark grows or you see active water, call before painting over it.

Check the attic

  • Wet or compressed insulation above the stain
  • Daylight at penetrations
  • Frost patterns that point to air leaks
  • Condensation vs rain timing

When we reopen the scope

Active leaks after our repair get a prompt return look under warranty terms in your paperwork.

Interior paint and texture are often owner or separate trade — we focus on stopping water at the exterior first.
